Microbial contamination control

An important aspect that we must begin to control in distributed products is to determine unwanted contamination, and thus control the safety of these products, especially because they pose a danger during handling.

Consequently, IAB has applied standardized methods for the determination of pathogenic and nonpathogenic contaminants as service offered and systematic work mode in quality control of their products. These tests involve the following determinations:

  • Quantification of bacteria, yeasts and fungal contaminants
  • Quantification of spore-forming anaerobic bacteria
  • Quantification of coliforms
  • Coagulase-positive Staphylococcus count
  • Detection of Shigella
  • Enumeration of Listeria monocytogenes
  • Pseudomonas aeruginosa count
  • Detection of Salmonella
