In vitro efficiencies evaluation

Among the methods used by IAB in R&D, the company offers as services some methodologies for evaluating in vitro efficiencies such as:

Evaluation of fungicide and fungistatic action

It consists of quantifying the effect of a microorganism or substance of any kind to kill or inhibit the growth of unwanted fungi. To do this, IAB has its own strain collection of pathogenic fungi which have been isolated and are taken as a reference for the study of the effect. Some of these fungi are: Alternaria, Botrytis, Rhizoctonia, Sclerotinia, Verticillium, etc.

Evaluation of bactericidal and bacteriostatic effect

servicios-04

IAB has obtained and preserved strains of pathogenic bacteria (Pseudomonas, Erwinia, Xanthomonas, etc) for primary and in vitro evaluation of the germicidal action of bacteria or development control effect of these bacteria.

servicios-05Evaluation of mycorrhization index

This type of analysis has been developed in IAB to determine the quality of the products based on mycorrhizae with the spore count of such fungi because the latter analysis does not completely define the quality of a product and it is necessary to perform this such assessments to ensure a minimum quality.

Pilot trials of microbial products in seeds and seedlings

IAB is implementing standardized procedures to evaluate the effectiveness of products based on seed microorganisms, both in vitro crops and in seedbeds and seedlings. In this way several parameters can be evaluated such as germination rates, the microorganism counting in roots, the percentage rooting increase, etc.
